ASE Certified Technicians
Flower Hill Auto Body, in Roslyn NY, is proud to say that all of our technicians are ASE Certified. For our customers who may not be aware, ASE stands for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. ASE has worked since 1972 to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying automotive professionals. This certification is incredibly difficult to obtain, so only the best will receive it. We believe this says a lot about our business, as it proves we care about the quality of our technicians.
You may be wondering what the point of an ASE certification is. The ASE certification exists to protect our customers, our auto shop, and our technicians. The institute will test and certify our professionals to allow us and our customers to know exactly what our technician’s skill levels are. As a customer, you will never have to worry about one of our technicians being unskilled or knowledgeable about current automotive standards. It would be impossible to obtain the certification as an unskillful technician. As a technician, having an ASE certification tells us that you have solid proof of your skill levels. All in all, obtaining an ASE certification gives everyone involved a piece of mind. That is important to us here at Flower Hill Auto Body.
The process to obtain an ASE certification is incredibly difficult. Not just any technician on the street can receive an ASE certification. For our technicians to obtain an ASE certification, they must have at least two years of on-the-job training. If they do not have at least two years of on-the-job training, they must have at least one year of on-the-job training plus a two-year degree in automotive repair. Once they have that qualification, they must pass a challenging test. Only two out of three test-takers will pass on their first attempt, so you know only the best of the best will be ASE certified. If a technician wants to remain ASE certified, they have to retest once every five years. Retesting ensures all of our technicians are staying up-to-date with the ever-changing automotive industry. We want our technicians to be nothing short of the best, and this certification proves that.
